The Two Witnesses - Being Ready - An Afterglow
Friends and Readers of my recent "Two Witnesses" series, I have had some additional thoughts to share. As I have reflected on the series, I have remembered some things that I meant to share, but forgot. I also want to address an issue that I still have uncertainty about. It is never my intention to "win you over" to my way of thinking, but to bring you along on my learning journey. I am going to share informally with you...as if you are reading this, you already have a lot of background knowledge on the subject, and are likely spiritually mature. So, no baby steps here, just diving in.
1) The 1260 day of Revelation 11:3: I know some of you must be scratching your heads and trying to figure out how the 1260 days fit with my theory about Judah and Joseph being the 2 witnesses. I want to be completely transparent with you in telling you that I do not have an answer for that. It is on my "list" that I keep before YHVH. He will answer in His time. I know that some of my friends and readers hold to a 3.5 year portion of the tribulation, after which, they believe that a rapture of the church will take place. The math works like this: 1260 days ➗ 360 days =3.5. My friends reason that this means 3.5 years. But why couldn't those same 1260 days be 1260 years? We see examples of days = years in scripture (We see an example of the days = years in Ezekiel 4:4-5, for example). Also Peter tells us that "a day is as 1,000 years" in 2 Peter 3:8 (which he is quoting from Psalm 90:4, btw). --I bring all of this up to say that I am not ignoring the "problem" of not understanding those 1260 days. I just don't have it worked out...yet.
Also, the "woman who gave birth to a male child who is to rule the nations with an iron rod (referring to Messiah, Psalm 2:9), we are told, "fled into the wilderness...for 1260 days" (Rev 12:5-6). I'm not sure if my friends think that represents 3.5 years or not, but it seems unlikely in my understanding.
You see, one thing I have learned doing bible study, is that answers do not always come easily. Do I understand everything I read in the Bible? Of course not. But, what I have learned is that I serve a faithful God. He has ALL the answers. At the end of many studies...with my mind clouded by not understanding each little bit that I want to understand, I find myself asking this question: Do I trust Him? And then I literally ASK Him to SHOW ME. And you know what, He HAS SHOWN ME answers to many things. HallaluYAH!
So, in time, and with a lot of study, I expect for these puzzle pieces to fit snugly together.
You are welcome to agree/disagree with me about ANY portion or ALL of this without my being upset one teensy little bit (I promise), but if you do, I just have one request.
Know why you agree or disagree.
Make it because YOU have done your homework, and not because of what another person (including me) has told you. Moving on...
2) The 2 sticks coming together: I cannot believe I forgot to include this in the series! Grab your bible and turn to Ezekiel 37. This may be familiar to you as the "dry bones" chapter. Following the dry bones, however, is the analogy of the 2 sticks. It's really the culmination of my entire theory. We will begin in verse 15...
You, son of man, take on stick and write on it, 'For Judah" - for Bnei-Yisrael joined with him. Then take another stick and write on it, 'For Joseph' - the stick of Ephraim and all the house of Israel joined with him. Join them one to another for yourself, as one stick, so that they may become one in your hand.
...
Behold, I will take Beni-Yisrael from among the nations, where they have gone. I will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land. I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel, and one king will be king to them all. They will no longer be two nations an never again be divided into two kingdoms....
So YHVH's Word tells us that these brothers will once again be combined into "one stick" and that they will never be divided again. HallaluYAH!
3) The Message of Yom Teruah / Feast of Trumpets: I shared with you early in the series that Messiah Yeshua used feast language with his disciples when he told them that "of that day and hour no one knows." What I forgot to do in the series, was circle back to Matthew 24 to make sure I communicated what Messiah was communicating about His return...and what Trumpets should remind us to do: BE ALERT. Messiah told them, "Therefore stay alert, for you do not know what day your Lord is coming."
Do we see the brothers living in unity yet?
No, not 100%.
But...do we see the branches of the "fig tree becoming tender and putting forth leaves?"
Yes, I believe we do, and I tried to allude to the ways that we are seeing that within the series, so I will not make my case here.
I say all of this to say, that Messiah expects us to BE READY for His return at any time. HalluYAH!
The Ruach and the bride say, "Come!"
And let the one who hears say, "Come!"
Let the one who is thirsty come -
let the one who wishes freely take the water of life!
...
The One giving testimony to these things says,
"Yes! I am coming soon!"
Amen!
Come Lord Yeshua!
Revelation 22:12-20 (portions)
May we find ourselves:
1) Celebrating Yom Teruah / Feast of Trumpets
2) Looking for the 2 witnesses to agree
3) Being alert and ready for Messiah Yeshua's return
and
4) Joyfully shouting "COME Lord Yeshua!"
This concludes the series of The Two Witnesses -- I mean it this time 😀
