Stop Waiting for Sukkot

Image
Hello Dear Friends and Readers!  What a surprising title you've clicked on today.   Stop waiting❓ Those of you who know me or have followed this blog for a while may be scratching your heads, but I promise, I have not changed my mind about the importance of Biblical Feasting for followers of Yeshua. While the title certainly was crafted to draw your attention, I will be most honored if you hang around and read my humble thoughts, as I have strung a few pearls together and would really like to share them with you. Like many of you, I have been brushing up on the soon coming Fall Feasts, and I've made some "new to me" connections about Sukkot.  Spoiler alert:  one of my connections is that, while we do have to wait for the calendar to flip to the season of our joy each year, we can ( and should ) be living in the spirit of Sukkot all year long...and I can prove it. Before we get to that, my first precious find during this season of study has been in the Psa...

Haggadot

Image
Are you looking for a Christ-Centered Haggadah?  Here are a few of my favorites! 1) This is what I affectionately call "the long version" Haggadah .  I created it in 2021, and to date, that was probably my favorite Passover.  (But let's keep trying, right!?) 2) Because there is a long version, you knew there had to be a "short version" Haggadah , right?  After a few l-o-n-g years 😉, my teenager helped me understand that sometimes a shorter version is just what is needed.   3) If I had all the time in the world, I would use this beautiful (and 40 page!) Haggadah from Torah Resource .  I love the Hebrew recitation, the traditions, and the New Testament connections.  As a matter of fact, I am thinking of pulling a few pages from this Haggadah and meshing it with "the short version" in 2024.  Does that mean we may have a medium version to share next year? 😎😂 4) I am also a big fan of the Haggadah published by Chosen People Ministries (CPM)....

The Place of His Choosing: Part 2

Image
Hello Again Dear Friends and Readers! Last we were together, in Part 1 of The Place of His Choosing , I shared with you that I once had this question: Should believers be attempting to celebrate YHVH’s appointed times outside of Jerusalem with no physical temple? We looked at several scriptures where YHVH commanded Israel to worship Him at “the place of His choosing,” and that left us with a few new questions: Has Israel been left without a temple? and Where is the place of YHVH’s choosing today? I believe when we answer the latter two questions, we will be able to answer the former one.  Ready to dive in?  Let’s go! Let us first think about the purpose of the tabernacle and the temple of YHVH.  Scripture shows us that in their respective times, they were the dwelling place of YHVH.   We see the glory of YHVH filling the tabernacle in the wilderness in Exodus 40:34-38 , and His glory once again filling the temple in Jerusalem in 1 Kings 8:10-11 .  Th...

The Place of His Choosing: Part 1

Image
Greetings Dear Friends and Readers!  I am going to get right down to business by sharing with you a question I once had… Should believers be attempting to celebrate YHVH’s appointed times outside of Jerusalem with no physical temple? A few years ago, I wrestled through this question as I began to prepare for Passover, but truly, it could be asked about the celebration of any of YHVH’s Appointed Times.  (See Leviticus 23 for a quick review).   So where did my question originate? Reading Deuteronomy. Look with me now at the following scriptures: Deuteronomy 16:11; 16:16; 14:23-26; 31:11 .   In each of these passages, an emphasis is made that Israel should worship YHVH, “in the place He chooses.”    To many, that immediately calls to mind the temple in Jerusalem.  But has that always been the case?  Moses led Israel to celebrate Passover in the Sinai wilderness - Numbers 9:4-5 .  Joshua led Israel to celebrate both Passover and Firstfruits...
