Hello to my Feasting Friends! At the time of this blog post, we are just days away from another appointed time of YHVH.   How. Exciting. You have likely heard of this feast by one of the following names: Shavuot, or... Feast of Weeks, or... Pentecost. These all describe the same appointed time. My personal preference is to call it Shavuot, but you call it whatever you like....Deal? Shavuot is timed by its relationship to the Feast of First Fruits during the week of Passover.   Because of that, some friends will celebrate it at slightly different times, just as some celebrate Passover at slightly different times.   You know my take on calendars by now.  I say celebrate and support one another.  We will know the REAL dates when Messiah returns, until then, let's walk in obedience to The Father and love for our neighbors.  And if we time it just right with our friends, some of us may be able to celebrate a little bit extra!   Let us lo...

Welcome back friends and readers!  Today we are going to talk about the topic... In Part 1, I shared with you that 603,548 " blood covered " participants of the Exodus Passover did not qualify to enter the Promised Land .  In this blog, I will ask and answer 2 questions: 1) Where did I get that number?  and 2) What kept them from qualifying? 1) The number:   Chapter 1 of the Book of Numbers contains the early census of Israel. We can either add the sums of the tribes, or if you're like me, you can notice that Moses added them for us in verse 46 .  Moses totals Israel to be 603,550 strong.  In reality, this number under represents Israel. Why? Our Passover cup placed on a scarf that I bought at the Jaffa Gate in Jerusalem Today is a special day.  As I write, I also celebrate that Yeshua has been raised from the dead, the First Fruits of all who will be raised.  HallaluYAH!  Sometimes, like this year, this celebration falls on the same day as many of my friends celebrate easter.  But did you know, that the holiday of First Fruits was given way back in Leviticus  before Yeshua was born, crucified, buried, or raised from the dead?  It was given as a sign...a sign for us to look for Messiah and to recognize Him. We always set a place for Messiah Yeshua at our Passover table I have found that all the holidays that I need can be found within the Feasts of The Father.   Sha-vu-what? Shavuot! You have likely heard of it described using its Greek name, Pentecost.  The Acts 2 celebration of Pentecost is the Leviticus 23 Feast of Shavuot!  (Notice the disciples were still celebrating it after the death, resurrection, and ascension of Yeshua.  I believe this is ONE very compelling reason to learn about it). This is an exciting feast to study, because like Passover, we have seen it at least partially fulfilled in the gifting of The Holy Spirit (Acts 2).  Jewish tradition has recorded that the Torah, or Law, was given during the first Shavuot. Tradition is not scripture, so we cannot be 100% sure of the timing, but I am compelled to lean into that timeline.  It fits.  Do your own homework, and if you come up with something different, I would love to hear.  We should always be learning!   ⇩ At the first Shavuot, the Torah was given to govern the hearts of YHVH's people.
