Passover Part 4: Trampled Underfoot?
So happy to be sharing with you again just a bit more about the threshold covenant as it pertains to Passover. In Part 3, we made the connection that YHVH teaches us about spiritual matters through physical ones. Israel put blood on their doorposts in order to be "passed over," and later they learned that Messiah Yeshua IS The Door that leads to salvation. HallaluYAH!
Before we move on, I want to connect some dots that we read about in the book of Hebrews. In chapter 10 we are given a stern warning:
How much more severe punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?
Hebrews 10:29
If that doesn't take your breath away, we may need to check your pulse!!!
But what does it mean?
Let us go back to the ancient threshold covenant rite (the physical) for our answer to the spiritual lesson being taught to us in this passage.
“The threshold, as the family altar on which the sacrificial blood of a covenant welcome is poured out, is counted sacred, and is not to be stepped upon, or passed over lightly; but it is to be crossed over reverently, as in recognition of Him to whom all life belongs.”
Excerpt From: H. Clay Trumbull. “The Threshold Covenant; or, The Beginning of Religious Rites.” iBooks.
So, since Yeshua is The Sacrifice and The Door of the threshold covenant (the spiritual), we certainly do not want to be found tramping across His precious blood as though it were common.
To do so would be to show contempt.
Also, His blood has been offered once and once only. It will not be offered a second time.
It. Is. Finished.
He will not pour out His blood a second time just because some may choose to trample it. Take heed and seek Him while He may be found! Hebrews 9:25-28
Oops! This clearly did not move us on to the direction of Yeshua as our Chief Cornerstone. I do that sometimes....
So, that guarantees that I will be inviting you back soon to...
