Dear Friends and Readers,
This is a season of learning for me. It is the year that YHVH is teaching me more about the 8th day following the 7 days of Sukkot. I am in the process of wrapping my head around it, and as I continue to read the bible, I continue to see connections. To some readers, these connections will not make too much sense. That's okay. I am barely grasping their connections myself. Other readers will perhaps see some of the patterns that I am seeing. I expect this to be a place that I revisit and add scripture to as I keep reading and seeing.
Here is the short version: The 8th day is an invitation into eternity. The ceremonial sheep were given to YHVH on the 8th day. We will be given to Him on the 8th day as well...as His firstborn. We are rightly His. Not all are firstborn material....we will be put under the rod and separated. Those who meet the criteria (called AND chosen) will be invited into eternity with YHVH. The criteria are simple, yet some will be surprised (Matt 7:23). --Are we following YHVH with our whole hearts? Are we covered by the sacrifice of Yeshua...the Messiah of Israel? Are we serious about sin and obedience, mercy and righteousness? Or are we just playing church? May each of us read The Word, reflect, repent, and repeat. May each of us follow YHVH with our whole hearts. May each of us receive the invitation to stay for eternity. Come Seek With Me...
The eighth day will be a holy convocation to you, and you are to bring an offering by fire to Adonai. It is a solemn assembly -- you shall do no laborious work.
Leviticus 23:36
You are to present the firstborn of your sons to Me. Do the same with your cattle and with your sheep. For seven days it is to be with its mother, and on the eighth day you are to give it to Me.
Exodus 22:29-29
Israel is My son, My firstborn.
Exodus 4:22
I will make you pass under the rod and bring you into the bond of the covenant. I will purge out the rebels from among you and those who transgress against Me. I will bring them out from the land where they dwell, but they will not enter the land of Israel.
Ezekiel 20:37-38
On the last and greatest day of the feast, Yeshua stood up and cried out loudly, If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. Whoever believes in Me, as the scripture says, out of his innermost being will flow rivers of living water. Now He said this about the Ruach, whom those who trusted in Him were going to receive.
John 7:37-39
What was Yeshua referring to "as the scripture says"?
For I will pour water on the thirsty land and stream on the dry ground. I will pour My Spirit on your offspring and My blessing on your descendants. They will spring up among the grass like willows by flowing streams. This one will say, I am Adonai's.' That one will be called by the name Jacob. Another will write on his hand, Adonai's and will take the name Israel.
Isaiah 44:1-5
And
Ho, everyone who thirsts, come to the water, and you who have no money, come, buy and eat.
Isaiah 55:1
And
Then Adonai will guide you continually, satisfy your soul in drought and strengthen your bones. You will be like a watered garden, like a spring of water whose waters never fail.
Isaiah 58:11
And
In that day a spring will be opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem to cleanse them from sin and impurity.
Zechariah 13:1
And
Moreover, in that day living waters will flow from Jerusalem half toward the eastern sea and half toward the western sea, both in the summer and in winter. Adonai will then be King over all the earth. In that day Adonai will be Echad and His Name Echad.
Zechariah 14:8-9
Yeshua spoke to them again saying, I Am the light of the world. The one who follows Me will no longer walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.
John 8:12
Yeshua is speaking from the scriptures once again...
I, Adonai, called you in righteousness, I will take hold of Your hand, I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, as a light to the nations....
Isaiah 42:6
And
So I will give You as a light for the nations, that You should be My salvation to the end of the earth.
Isaiah 49:6
After these things I looked, and behold, a vast multitude that no one could count -- from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues -- was standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in while robes, with palm branches in their hands and crying out with a loud voice, saying, "Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb."
Revelation 7:9-10
Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready, She was given fine linen to wear, bright and clean! For the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the kedoshim.
Revelation 19:7-8
I also saw the holy city -- the New Jerusalem -- coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. I also heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, Behold, the dwelling of God is among men, and He shall tabernacle among them. They shall be His people, and God Himself shall be among them and be their God.
Revelation 21:2-3
It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will freely give from the spring of the water of life. The one who overcomes shall inherit these things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.
Revelation 21:6-7
