Stop Waiting for Sukkot

Image
Hello Dear Friends and Readers!  What a surprising title you've clicked on today.   Stop waiting❓ Those of you who know me or have followed this blog for a while may be scratching your heads, but I promise, I have not changed my mind about the importance of Biblical Feasting for followers of Yeshua. While the title certainly was crafted to draw your attention, I will be most honored if you hang around and read my humble thoughts, as I have strung a few pearls together and would really like to share them with you. Like many of you, I have been brushing up on the soon coming Fall Feasts, and I've made some "new to me" connections about Sukkot.  Spoiler alert:  one of my connections is that, while we do have to wait for the calendar to flip to the season of our joy each year, we can ( and should ) be living in the spirit of Sukkot all year long...and I can prove it. Before we get to that, my first precious find during this season of study has been in the Psalms.   How

Haggadot

Are you looking for a Christ-Centered Haggadah?  Here are a few of my favorites! 1) This is what I affectionately call "the long version" Haggadah .  I created it in 2021, and to date, that was probably my favorite Passover.  (But let's keep trying, right!?) 2) Because there is a long version, you knew there had to be a "short version" Haggadah , right?  After a few l-o-n-g years 😉, my teenager helped me understand that sometimes a shorter version is just what is needed.   3) If I had all the time in the world, I would use this beautiful (and 40 page!) Haggadah from Torah Resource .  I love the Hebrew recitation, the traditions, and the New Testament connections.  As a matter of fact, I am thinking of pulling a few pages from this Haggadah and meshing it with "the short version" in 2024.  Does that mean we may have a medium version to share next year? 😎😂 4) I am also a big fan of the Haggadah published by Chosen People Ministries (CPM).  An added b

Tell The Story!

Greetings Dear Friends and Readers! I am currently in preparation mode for this year's Passover and spending time contemplating why it is so important to remember The Passover each year.   I think we can look to what scripture tells us about Israel as "Exhibit A," as they fell into a pattern of forgetfulness and consequences before they ever reached The Promised Land.   I think it is also critical for Christians to realize that Passover is not "just a Jewish holiday."  It is a STORY that transcends.... If we claim to have been saved by "the blood of Jesus Christ," how do we know what that means?  That's Passover verbiage my friends!  Let us not reject learning about and leaning into the depth of our salvation. With that said, may we also not fall into the pattern of forgetfulness, disobedience, and consequences that we read about throughout scripture. We have been released from bondage, Friends.   That's Our Exodus!!  We are meant to make tha

The Firstfruit Offering -- A Thoughtful Theory

Firstfruit WAVE OFFERING Theory, by Brenda Wilson. I don’t know how I got on this particular trail (other than it being Holy Spirit led), but on January 26, 2024 I happened upon the account in Matthew 27:50-53 Then Jesus shouted out again, and he released his spirit. At that moment the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook, rocks split apart, and tombs opened. The bodies of many godly men and women who had died were raised from the dead. They left the cemetery after Jesus’ resurrection, went into the holy city of Jerusalem, and appeared to many people. NLT My thoughts started racing to Jesus being the firstfruit of the resurrected in 1 Cor 15:20-23 But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead. He is the first of a great harvest of all who have died. So you see, just as death came into the world through a man, now the resurrection from the dead has begun through another man. Just as everyone dies because we all belong to Adam
