Isaiah 35 - A Study Session

Dear Friends and Readers,


I was recently asked to share how I study. Well, I find myself studying right now, and I thought I might invite you along.  Today I am collecting thoughts and scriptures…much like strings.  I hope that once they have been arranged a beautiful tapestry will come into focus.  We shall see.  If you care to look over the raw materials as I study it out, feel free to come seek with me…


Thoughts:  Isaiah chapter 35:


There was a time that I thought of this chapter as a future event, but as I read through this time, I noticed that some portions of it have already happened.


  • Yeshua did heal the blind, deaf, mute, and lame. 

  • I would think that Yeshua’s presence could be compared to a blossoming of a dry desert.  

  • Yeshua did speak of rivers of living water - referring to the Holy Spirit, but originating within Himself

  • I recall that in Acts, the new believers are referred to be followers of “the way.”

  • Yeshua said, “I am the way” to Thomas who asked “How can we know the way?”  – I find this interesting, as the conversation leading up to the question and answer has a lot of wedding imagery (My Father’s house / many rooms / going to prepare / will come again and take you to Myself / where I am you may also be – And YOU KNOW the way) But Thomas claims he DOES NOT KNOW the way. That is when Yeshua makes the “I Am” statement.



So, we see Yeshua saying, “I Am the way” but He doesn’t stop there.  He goes on…


“I Am the way, the truth, and the life!  No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6 


No one comes to the Father except through Me – Does He mean as in via “the way?” Isaiah 35


The redeemed walk there…


The ransomed return…


They come with singing…


The unclean will not travel on it…


Sorrow and sighing will flee away…

Is THIS what Yeshua meant when He said that “I Am the way” ???


Did He mean that He is the Isaiah 35 path…The ONLY path to YHVH?


If so, the Way of Holiness is not some future pathway that people generations from now will literally walk…It is open for travel TODAY!!!


Dear Friends, This is all I have today.  When I study, I begin with a scripture…add related scriptures…ask some questions…seek as many answers as I can find…and I record my brainstorms/research.  That is what I have done here, and this feels like a fruitful study!  Some sessions are better than others, and this was a good day.

Are You Willing?

Anyone out there like me...thinking that "the good shepherd" statement made by Yeshua (Jesus) was a simple analogy made up "on the spot" to convey His caring nature?   Oh boy! In my quest to understand the Old Testament (OT), I am finding that so many things in the New Testament (NT) are just re-teachings of original OT teachings.  This good shepherd  statement is a prime example, and it explains why the Judean leaders wanted to stone Yeshua for blasphemy! (John 10:33)  Without the context of the OT, one could not possibly understand the complete gravity of what Yeshua was claiming when referring to Himself as the Good Shepherd.   So, let's take a look... Haggadot

Are you looking for a Christ-Centered Haggadah?  Here are a few of my favorites! 1) This is what I affectionately call "the long version" Haggadah .  I created it in 2021, and to date, that was probably my favorite Passover.  (But let's keep trying, right!?) 2) Because there is a long version, you knew there had to be a "short version" Haggadah , right?  After a few l-o-n-g years 😉, my teenager helped me understand that sometimes a shorter version is just what is needed.   3) If I had all the time in the world, I would use this beautiful (and 40 page!) Haggadah from Torah Resource .  I love the Hebrew recitation, the traditions, and the New Testament connections.  As a matter of fact, I am thinking of pulling a few pages from this Haggadah and meshing it with "the short version" in 2024.  Does that mean we may have a medium version to share next year? 😎😂 4) I am also a big fan of the Haggadah published by Chosen People Ministries (CPM).  An added b
