The Place of His Choosing: Part 2

Hello Again Dear Friends and Readers! Last we were together, in Part 1 of The Place of His Choosing , I shared with you that I once had this question: Should believers be attempting to celebrate YHVH’s appointed times outside of Jerusalem with no physical temple? We looked at several scriptures where YHVH commanded Israel to worship Him at “the place of His choosing,” and that left us with a few new questions: Has Israel been left without a temple? and Where is the place of YHVH’s choosing today? I believe when we answer the latter two questions, we will be able to answer the former one.  Ready to dive in?  Let’s go! Let us first think about the purpose of the tabernacle and the temple of YHVH.  Scripture shows us that in their respective times, they were the dwelling place of YHVH.   We see the glory of YHVH filling the tabernacle in the wilderness in Exodus 40:34-38 , and His glory once again filling the temple in Jerusalem in 1 Kings 8:10-11 .  These were the places that YHVH used

Greetings Dear Friends and Readers!  I am going to get right down to business by sharing with you a question I once had… Should believers be attempting to celebrate YHVH’s appointed times outside of Jerusalem with no physical temple? A few years ago, I wrestled through this question as I began to prepare for Passover, but truly, it could be asked about the celebration of any of YHVH’s Appointed Times.  (See Leviticus 23 for a quick review).   So where did my question originate? Reading Deuteronomy. Look with me now at the following scriptures: Deuteronomy 16:11; 16:16; 14:23-26; 31:11 .   In each of these passages, an emphasis is made that Israel should worship YHVH, “in the place He chooses.”    To many, that immediately calls to mind the temple in Jerusalem.  But has that always been the case?  Moses led Israel to celebrate Passover in the Sinai wilderness - Numbers 9:4-5 .  Joshua led Israel to celebrate both Passover and Firstfruits at Gilgal after crossing The Jordan River - Josh

Hezekiah's Tunnel: Feat or Fear?

Hello Dear Friends and Readers, so good to be with you!  I have been making steady progress through the prophets this year, and today's thoughts come from my study of  Isaiah 22 .  If you have read this particular chapter, I bet you have noticed some interesting language surrounding Eliakim, son on Hilkiah.  If you haven't read it...go ahead and give it a read now.  I will be waiting right here 😃 It would appear that Eliakim is a "type" of Messiah-figure and some pretty nice things are said about him.  We are told that the very key of David will be set upon his shoulder...that what he opens, no one can shut and vice versa.  Sound familiar?  (I see you shaking your head 😉).  We see more language about keys and doors opening/shutting in  Revelation 3:7 , and from the context, we can know with 100% certainty that the Revelation text speaks of Messiah Yeshua.  This is why we can look back at this passage about Eliakim as a "type" of Messiah.  We are supposed t
