Are Those Your Eyes? Are They Mine?

Image
Hello Dear Friends and Readers!   The book of Revelation keeps inspiring me, but I definitely want to note that it is the rest of the cannon of scripture that keeps leading me to make possible connections.  The Bible is one continuous woven story.  It takes the whole thing to be able to begin to see the tapestry.  For example, my most recent Revelation connection is dependent upon scriptures from the Torah, Prophets, and Writings, AND required a bit of digging into ancient history.  It's not wrapped too tightly into a little bow, but I gotta theory...😉  Wanna know more?  Let's go! Today I am thinking about all those eyes 👀 in Revelation chapter 4:6-11 .  It's not the first time we've encountered them, as Ezekiel is eye-witness (get it? 🤣) to a strikingly similar scene in Ezekiel 1:4-18. It is pretty clear that these passages are connected.  Are Ezekiel and John being shown the same vision?  Perhaps a topic for another day. For today, however, I would like to propos

8th Day Scripture Trail

Image
Dear Friends and Readers,   This is a season of learning for me.  It is the year that YHVH is teaching me more about the 8th day following the 7 days of Sukkot.  I am in the process of wrapping my head around it, and as I continue to read the bible, I continue to see connections.  To some readers, these connections will not make too much sense.  That's okay.  I am barely grasping their connections myself.  Other readers will perhaps see some of the patterns that I am seeing.  I expect this to be a place that I revisit and add scripture to as I keep reading and seeing.   Here is the short version:  The 8th day is an invitation into eternity.  The ceremonial sheep were given to YHVH on the 8th day.  We will be given to Him on the 8th day as well...as His firstborn.  We are rightly His.  Not all are firstborn material....we will be put under the rod and separated.  Those who meet the criteria ( called AND chosen ) will be invited into eternity with YHVH.  The criteria are simple, yet

Eager for Fellowship: 10 Steps for Developing Your Tribe

Image
People often ask me how I found my Bible study "tribe." Well, the truth is that I didn't find one, I was part of developing one.  Grab a notepad and pen, Friends! Let us explore some strategies for developing deeper fellowship with whole Bible believers.    PRAY The importance of prayer in the development of a tribe cannot be over-emphasized.  Effective tribe-building is a supernatural experience, Friends.  It happens because the Holy Spirit makes it happen.  Don’t neglect prayer in this endeavor.   EMBRACE THE DESERT While feelings of loneliness are difficult, there can be great joy in being one-on-one with YHVH.  There is purpose in the waiting.  Don’t resist Him. INVEST IN PEOPLE YOU ALREADY KNOW Have you noticed anyone who seems curious about your whole Bible lifestyle?  Do you have a friend or family member that likes to “talk Bible” with you?  These people may become your tribe.  Perhaps you do not have such people in your life.  That’s okay; keep praying, and

Building Anticipation For The Party!

Hello Dear Readers!  Good to be with you as we near another one of YHVH's appointed times.   What are you doing to prepare? I put the above question out to a group recently, and I realized that many are not sure how to prepare for YHVH's appointed times.   For most of us, myself included, following YHVH's calendar is a new adventure.  Just knowing it exists feels like a real accomplishment!     I am no expert on the Appointed Times or in preparing for them, but I am glad to share a few ideas for getting started. 1) Study This is by far the most important aspect of celebrating YHVH's Appointed Times.  Find out what the Bible says about the feast days.  You can always find the beginning of a trail in Leviticus 23 .  Beyond that, doing a word search in Blue Letter Bible can help you find other places in the Bible where each feast is mentioned.  I recommend gleaning as much from scripture as you can about each feast before using secondary sources.    2) Mark Your Calenda

Courage to Build

Image
I can always tell when I have been watching or reading too much news.  It has a tendency to make me feel anxious.  And, while it is true that our world is sinful, we have been given something much better on which to focus our attention:   YHVH And His plan to restore creation and man back to The Garden.  You see, when I begin to feel that newsy anxiety , I know that I am forgetting that I hold Revelation 22 in my hands and heart.  Truly, I am confident, without a shadow of doubt, that YHVH will bring His people back to the peace of the Garden of Eden.  Until then, we have been given important work to do.  What is that work? Making Disciples "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, immersing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the  Ruach ha-Kodesh ,  teaching them to observe all I have commanded you. And remember! I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20 We are to spread the Good News of the Kingdom of God, and invite others to wa

What is All That Counting About?

Hello to my Feasting Friends! At the time of this blog post, we are just days away from another appointed time of YHVH.   How. Exciting. You have likely heard of this feast by one of the following names: Shavuot, or... Feast of Weeks, or... Pentecost. These all describe the same appointed time. My personal preference is to call it Shavuot, but you call it whatever you like....Deal? Shavuot is timed by its relationship to the Feast of First Fruits during the week of Passover.   Because of that, some friends will celebrate it at slightly different times, just as some celebrate Passover at slightly different times.   You know my take on calendars by now.  I say celebrate and support one another.  We will know the REAL dates when Messiah returns, until then, let's walk in obedience to The Father and love for our neighbors.  And if we time it just right with our friends, some of us may be able to celebrate a little bit extra!   Let us look to Leviticus 23:11 to see where to begin: "
